Robert Pattinson Again? God Damnit, Who Did I Piss Off in a Former Life?

Oh my God, this trailer for the new Robert Pattinson drama Little Ashes, in which he portrays surrealist painter Salvador Dali, is so f-ing funny that I literally teared up a little. Watch Robert Pattinson don a crazy mustache! Hear him mangle lines as badly as he did in Twilight! See him give his trademarked vacant expression that's supposed to represent emotion! Oh boy, I suddenly can not wait for this movie, just so I can make fun of him!

Even I thought Twilight is a piece of GARBAGE, I heard excellent reviews about this film (Especially pattinson's performance in London Film Festival and Valladolid this year) and the other Pattinson's film "How to Be" (Where he won an acting award in Strabourgh). I can't judge him as bad actor, because I only see Twilight, so we need to wait that film. Maybe he's a good actor and Twilight is so bad that any actor could save this mess... even gaspard could be awful too.

Ah homoerotic robert. I just want to wash him, read him Dracula and give him some rohypnol, wipe that smeyer filth from his mind. The Twi-Tards have invaded my favourite film forum and everytime a topic about Pattinson or Twilight comes up, they go into overdrive, they're like his PR team! Give me Gaspard!

Kayleigh, maybe you didn't understand my message... Twilight, for me, is one of the WORST movies of the year (The Book is for dumbass and teenagers with emothional problems in life). "Let the Right one In" is fantastic movie.

I only said it's too soon to judge him in "Little Ashes". The Reception in London was fantastic. Even "The Guardian" (one of the most important newspapers in UK, gave a good note about the film and Pattinsons performance. I don't know if he's a good or bad actor because I only see him in HP and Twilight. I'm not a critic per se without reasons and I not a Twilight fan (For God sake)

About gaspard, is only a note, I didn't say he's a bad actor. My perception is A POSSIBILITY Twilight is an awful film that maybe ANYONE could save it.

Hey Anonymous,
I wasn't acually replying to your post, just to the main one, but I would love to see Pattinson give another good performance (have you seen The Haunted Airman? He's good.) so people will stop thinking of him as Edward Cullen because that will kill his career stone dead. Twilight never stood a chance of being a good movie because the book is so awful, sexist, plotless and just morally wrong that nothing good could be salvaged from it. Even Pattinson thinks Smeyer is mad and living out a wet dream in the book! Gaspard got a lucky escape!

So I just got back from seeing Twilight again and I decided to cut Robert Pattinson a little slack because the script truly is awful and lets him, and everybody else for that matter, down over and over again. That dialogue would trip up even the most competent of actors, but when Pattinson is supposed to sit there and look, nothing comes from those vacuous eyes. Maybe not as bad as I first thought, but still leaps and bounds from a great performance. And let's not forget that Gaspard Ulliel, briefly, made us forget how awful Hannibal Rising was, so he might have had a better chance at making this material work- and then again he might not have.

Kayleigh: I've heard quite a few insults hurled towards Twilight but never sexist. I'm quite curious why you think that.

Just as a note, but I have heard the sexist comment thrown at Twilight quite a few times. It may have been a criticism of the series as a whole and not just the first book. I am not well versed enough in Twilight lore to intelligently comment farther. (Not that that usually stops me.)

Hey James (Thanks for the Facebook add by the way)
It took me a lot of thinking to come to the conclusion that Twilight series is sexist but now that I've realised it, I can't unsee it. (Spoilers for the 4 books) Bella is your typically dull damsel in distress. She never does anything for herself, she always relies on Edward or Jacob to save ger. She will not even consider a life without Edward, saying she'd rather die than be without him. There you go - no ambitions, no hopes or dreams, just eternity with the cardboarc cut out of a man! She goes into a state of near on catatonia when he leaves, then throws herself off a freaking cliff! She begs for sex, even when her first time (after marriage of course, at the age of 18) she becomes unconscious halfway through and the discoball husband leaves her bruised! and after everything that those two guys do to her she just forgives them. Every woman in the series is obsessed with babies! As if that is all they're good for. The girls are all either shallow, obsessed with pleasing their men, or in the case of Leah, a harpy (give the girl a break, she's heartbroken because her boyfriend dumped her and imprinted on her cousin!) And the whole imprinting thing! Women don't get a say, it's all just down to the guy picking a girl and saying Kablamo! You're mine! That's just a cleaned up version of statuary abuse! Have you read Breaking Dawn? Comedy read of the year! But the sickening part is this: After Bella has her baby, Jacob immediately imprints on it! So he'll be shagging his former love's daughter. In seven years, because she ages faster. So you get paedophilia as well as sexism! Smeyer is evil, she is setting feminism back 100 years, giving YA literature a bad name, bastardising vampires and ruining the youth of today. Read Dracula! Harry Potter! The Princess Diaries! Anything but these!
